Joshua Parkhurst attended college at the University of Chicago. He majored in Public Policy and attained a B.A. from that institution in 1993. In 1996 he graduated cum laude from New York University’ School of Law with a J.D. At that institution he was also the Legal Theory Editor of the Review of Law and Social Change. He was then admitted to the New York Bar. He is now employed as an attorney at Cary Kane LLP, a law firm which represents labor unions and employes. Mr. Parkhurst is also a board member and past president of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy. This is a non-profit organization which seeks to protect landmarks and historic neighborhoods in Jersey City. This is a mission of vital importance to Mr. Parkhurst, who believes that preserving historic neighborhoods is crucial in an era of development.
